Elizabeth Davidson-Blythe
About This Project:
This design work was for the English musician Elizabeth Davidson-Blythe, accompanied by Everest Witman, for her song Montreal Sky. This art began with an abstract depiction of Montreal's buildings and landmarks, but was then translated through an imaging AI and one simple prompt "Montreal Sky". The result is the imagery you see here. Much like how written sheet music is sterile and rigid, every song exactly the same in its formal dictation, the input shapes were basic and precise. But when music is played, it comes alive, transforming into an emotional piece of art. The AI's introduction of a bit of randomness and chaos felt a bit like what happens when a song is played. It becomes a new thing entirely. The second image is not a real cover, but an exploration of what another single might look like.
